Spring Registration is Open

Who/What: It is time to get moving!! OBX GO FAR Spring Season Registration is OPEN!! Please visit:HERE to register. Deadline to Register is March 1st!! OBX GO FAR is a 7 week educational, fitness, and character building program to prevent childhood obesity. In these 7 weeks, participants meet twice a week to train for a one mile run or 5k while learning about health concepts. It is $35 to participate. This includes race registration fee, shirt, medal, healthy snacks, season practices, and insurance.
OBX GO FAR is a non-profit program and could not do what we do without the generous support of our community; volunteers and sponsors.

Why: The efforts of programs like OBX GO FAR are making a difference, but obesity rates are still a scary number and there is still a lot of steps to be taken. Our children need a healthy and safe place to learn, grow, and take fun, active steps. The headlines these days are quite grim, but we can make a bright world for our children by taking a little time out of our day to Go Out For a Run and learn good habits while we're at it.

Children's balance is easily disrupted by peer pressures, social media, marketing industry for unhealthy habits, family life stress, addiction to technology, academic labels and pressures, and must I keep naming.... Finding a healthy balance in these unavoidable stresses is essential to happiness.
OBX GO FAR here is to help keep children moving in the right direction. The more we come together as a community, the stronger the foundation and the brighter the future.  By keeping them moving we can offer tools that lead to balance and will help them Go Far.
